Painting of the gulls (screaming) 200x120x80 cm (2013)
The Painting of the gulls (screaming) is a poetic soundpainting. The chair, probably from the 90's, recognizable by its 'cheesy pattern' and cheap mass production Aesthetics, is turned around, surprisingly, the bottom of the chair makes the sound of screaming gulls (with a bit of fantasy)
the painting connected, depicts the Brouwersdam 'concrete beach'. As long as i can remember,
(I often went to the beach there) campers are always parked during summertime at the seashore, It's a certain ugliness and desolation that i found beatiful here, like a scene from a cult movie.
