The art practice of Rowan Van As consists of drawing, installations, sculptures, performances and videos. He intervenes in public space through actions inspired by Dada and Cabaret. His performance series ‘Antwerp City you’re so pretty’ are small concerts, happening in non-places such as busy crossroads and street corners. Similar to a troubadour Rowan Van As sings about the uniqueness of this city. One of the instruments is a small organ, hidden in a giant Mussel. (text by Alan Quireyns)
